Phoebe Buffay is the actually the weirdest of the all six. Her birth dad left them. Her step dad is in prison for murder. Her mom committed suicide and she lives with her grandmother. She has had a very difficult childhood and yet she is determined to make it on her own. She tries to not think about all it. Of course, she carries her anger for all these people but it has not stopped her from doing whatever it takes to be okay. She has not let her bad past ruin her future for her. Even after life has shown her a lot, she is not scared of relationships and the best of all, she doesn’t let the rest five pass judgement on her. For example, during one of the episodes it is revealed that she used to be a mugger which is of course not acceptable and yet she tell the other five about her circumstances and how she did this to survive on the street, to get food.
Personally, I always hide things that I think are wrong as per other people’s judgement, however much I believe that I did the right thing. Looking at Phoebe, I realize that as long as I believe it’s the right thing after giving it a proper thought, I should not care about other people’s judgements. In short, don’t let what people might think about you affect you. Of course feedback is important and that’s how you improve, but don’t let others ruin your individuality or your life.
Phoebe tells me how much we take the normal life for granted and how precious it is. She ends the relationship with a guy she really loves because she wants the normal life that everyone had but she never got a chance to see. She wants to be a soccer mom, she wants to have a big fat wedding and she is super-possessive about her husband. She has never had that but she never lost hope and she treasured her life and its experiences.
