Ross Eustace Geller, being a palaeontologist, is the geekiest of them all. He is the one who will do the nerd talk and everyone laughs at him. It has happened to him so many times and so it has to me. It took some time for me to realise that even though most of us at IIMC are from engineering background and yet physics jokes are not appreciated by your friends. But Ross, he is proud about his profession. He loves it and refuses to let the disinterest of his friends stop him from talking about it, being excited about it and sharing it with them. He basically says it is okay to embrace your inner nerd.
Ross is one person whose life has thrown probably the most sad moments at him and yet every-time he gets up and embraces life. His first wife leaves him after 10 years of marriage because she realises she is a lesbian. So he only has part time with his son. Then he gets a divorce in his second marriage. Then he is forced to take a sabbatical at work owing to his rage. Then he gets divorced one more time and yet he is always hopeful. Even though he has been heartbroken so many times, everytime he falls in love he doesn’t let his past experiences make him bitter. Every new girl he sees as if she can be the one who he is eventually supposed to be with. Most of us, if heartbroken once, take a lot of time to trust another person and may be that trust never develops again. Ross teaches me to receive every new experience of life with open hands, without letting my bad experiences of past hamper my future experiences. You shall always learn from the past but not let it crush you that much that you don’t want to try new things ever again.
